The EU Centre invites you to the closing exhibition for our photography competition “Imagining the Future: Europe and Southeast Asia”. A selection of entries submitted to the competition will be on display, and there will be a prize presentation ceremony.
This event will also feature a public talk by Bridget Tracy Tan (Director of the Institute of Southeast Asian Art & Art Galleries, Nanyang Academy of Fine Art) on “Snapshots and Mandalas: Photography in Southeast Asia”.
She will share perspectives on photography as a practice and art in the region, looking comparatively at the notion of modernity and employing examples from the field of art history to illuminate some lesser known approaches to appreciating photography in the region.
