In Zone Focus: Reflecting By Jon Mitchell

I took this shot while on the train heading to Shinjuku to meet Chiif and Benny recently. This was the very first day I tried out my new to me Voigtlander 90mm f3.5 lens, and this was the very first shot on the roll of film. I was sitting on a seat in the train dozing off, and the camera was resting on my lap. For some reason, I noticed the sun light lighting up the hair of the girl standing at the door across from me. It looked nice. Then I noticed her reflection on the train door. I thought to myself “that will make a great shot” and quickly raised the camera to my eye, focused, and fired the shutter. All my stars were aligned – the 90mm was the perfect focal length to get the shot, my Zeiss Ikon was turned on and ready to go, the lens aperture was set to a convenient f4. All I had to do was focus and fire the shutter. A few seconds later the light changed and the girl turned toward the door, and the moment was lost forever. Expect on the first frame of my roll of Provia 400X :-)

Gear used: Zeiss Ikon RF + Voigtlander 90mm F3.5 + Fujifilm Provia 400x
