RF.SG & its veteran members were invited down to Leica Singapore’s Store @ Raffles Hotel for the launch of the all new Leica M9P & also, the opening of the Abbas Gallery wihtin the store. It was a wonderful night of being the company of excellent cameras that are world wide renowned, along with good food, Martell’s Cordon Bleu for drinks and good company.
As we all know, Leica Camera is the predecessor of Ernst Leitz GmbH. It all started with the Oskar Barnack who designed the first 35mm camera back in 1913. Then came the Leica 1 with the interchangeable lens system using the renowned LTM (Leica Thread Mount) or M39 due to the 39mm diameter screw thread.
In 1954, Leica introduced the M3, the first M system. Till today the M system is still going strong with the digital M backed by years of heritage & renowned precision & optics of the M system. The M system is well loved by both professionals & serious hobbyist till today. Superb optical performance & precision mechanical movements carried down by years of tradition camera craftsmanship has won the hearts of many.
