This photo was taken inside the Dalai Lama’s former residence, the Potala Palace. Photography was strictly forbidden inside, so I had to shoot from the waist, guessing the exposure using Sunny 16 rule, and setting the camera by feel while pretending to look elsewhere. Fortunately my camera was quiet enough not to attract the attentions of the meditating monk and a nearby attendant. – Gan Eng Liong
