In Zone Focus: Lonely & Tiresome By Simon Toh

She lives around my estate and I see her every so often – usually in the night as I make my way home. She is often seen sitting along the pavements or the corridor at void decks. Next to her will always be some card boxes and cartons that she seem to make a living out off collecting and selling them.

I have always wanted to walk up to her and offer any help she may need. But each time I see her, I couldn’t bring up the courage to do it. I am not exactly sure what is stopping myself from doing it. I cringe when I see the helplessness in her eyes.

Today, I spotted her sitting along the corridor of my neighbourhood’s void deck. Head down, looking extremely tired. Again, I did not walk up to her. I shall make it a point to talk to her and see how I can help her the next time I meet her. – Simon Toh
